The fact that the CR - 48 Google Notebook runs on an Intel processor suggests that it can run Windows or a different operating system full blown. But how to install Windows in the first place? It is not entirely clear. But we have the answer, or at least a part of it. Apparently, all portable CR - 48 are equipped with a developer, which, when activated, can potentially wipe and restore the partition provided the plant or break your current configuration of the chromium OS mode. This is no big deal, since all Web Store applications and browser settings reside in the cloud and it synchronize all worms laptop shouldn't take long. Point of this exercise is to show that if ever you decide to steal your laptop equipped chromium and to install another operating system, switch to developer mode is the way to do so.
First of all, to make the switch, Google recommends turning off the system. It also alerts you to this mode switching exposes system from malware and virus attacks, given that you are turning off tested boot (the ROM chip) on the motherboard. The rest is pretty simple: presentation of the black piece band under the battery, next to the power connector and remove to reveal a white switch. Flip the switch on the other hand and here, you are the developer mode. Then start the laptop.
Booting to a USB thumbdrive. We tried to connect this USB drive, but nothing happened. At any time if you f, you're presented two options: you can hit the space bar and proceed with a recovery mode. This allows to restore the laptop computer to its original state, will, if you download the software for recovery. If you feel uncomfortable doing so, you can return the switch to return and resume where you left in the chrome OS. If you leave the system sitting in the mode "sad face" for too long, the system will automatically delete and repartition your disk.
It takes about five to ten minutes of preparation for this mode and during this time, seeding system by removing the current solid state drive, or that the console is defined as "erase the partition with State." I presume that the partition, that is create is where Windows or any other operating system will reside, but it is all that can gather at this stage. The thing is the port USB is not aware of my devices or network, then how a to install Windows on this laptop is imprecise and probably a work in progress. Something for certain, though: the mere existence of the developer switch means that Google is not opposed to the development of programs for chromium, equipped with systems say, a dual-boot Windows and chrome OS.
