Politico launches iPad app (Macworld) (Yahoo!)

Politico launched its iPad, request to join a growing list of new publications to rewrite their content for Apple tablet device.

Publication of new policies for the Washington, D.C. quietly launched application last Friday and was advertising program Monday afternoon on its Web site. Application of three pages titles of politico, sport but - other than the font size selection and sharing social media - offers a few additional features for users.

Other national publications - such as the Washington Post and the New York Times - have promised to start fresh subscription for their applications iPad pricing after the beginning of the year, but there was little initial indications how politico plans to make money from its application. The Monday afternoon, a Shell oil company logo appeared on every page of the application, and users were treated to interstitial ads full page of the company after eavesdropping on headlines of history.

Then, the publication of all-policy-all-the-time can have a nose for the "new media" than their counterparts to print: politico started in 2007 as a Web publication only and later migrate print - daily when Congress is in session, once per week otherwise. The politico, Allbritton Communications, parent company has also recently launched TBD.com "hyperlocal" site in Washington, D.C.

IPad Politico is free and compatible with any iPad running iOS 3.2 or later.
