$299 (List) 3 M camcorder projector shoot ' n CP40 is a camcorder HD pocket with a unique twist: it integrates a projector. The CP40 can projecting your recordings on a wall and even display images, videos and PowerPoint presentations from a microSD card. It is more a demi-caméscope, half-projector as just a camcorder with a gimmick - composite video input even lets you connect other devices, and their content project. As a portable projector, it is fun and useful as a camcorder HD, however, it is not very impressive. You can spend less than $100 and get a Pocket video camera which offers much better video quality, storage internal and more functionality - such as Cisco Flip UltraHD 8 GB ($ 199.99, 3.5 stars) or the editors' Choice Sony Bloggie Touch ($ 199.99, 4-star).

Design and functionality
Brilliant white rectangular device is slightly larger than most handheld video cameras, but to 4.9 by 2.4 by 0.9 inches (DED) and 5.6 ounces, is always easily in a pocket. Beneath the LCD screen 2.4 inches are touch-sensitive controls: a multidirectional to navigate menus and buttons for video shooting, or pictures and to pass in the projector mode.

Like most Pocket camcorders, the lens on the CP40 offers zoom optics, that it includes a macro focus mode no more. Subjects should be a few feet later in order for the lens to focus on them. If you need a camcorder with a better lens, the Kodak Playtouch ($229.95, 3.5 star) has a macro focusing close-up, while Sony offers autofocus Bloggie Touch mode.

The CP40 has 14 MB integrated - sufficient storage to hold a PowerPoint file to load on the projector, but not enough for even a minute video recording high definition. At this price, I expect more integrated storage. Fortunately, you can add up to 32 GB of storage via microSD card slot and memory cards are a convenient way to load some files on the device.

It is easy to transfer files and outside the CP40. It connects to a computer via the mini-USB cable included, and once connected, you can drag and drop files and outside the camcorder. The fresh CP40 its connected lithium-ion battery, but it also includes a wall, charger if you use the projector for long periods of time. In addition to the composite video inputs and USB connections standard, the CP40 also offers a HDMI output, so you can play your film on a HDTV. A version of the $40 ArcSoft Media Converter is included with the camcorder that will convert almost any video file in a format that can be played back on the projector and can also secret PowerPoint slide film.

Performance
Despite its ranking of high-definition video produced by the camcorder is not impressive. The resolution is limited to 720 p at 30 frames per second. more recent generation HD camcorders can offer something more smooth frames 60 fps at 720 p, if this is true 1080p high-definition video. In my tests, even when I lutté - digital image stabilization remain immobile, video was still choppy. Overall, graphics performance is no match for large Pocket UltraHD Flip or the Sony Touch Bloggie camcorders prowess. Audio capture is large - topics in all my distant comings records.

Read still images or videos through the projector is fun and the quality is bad, but limited to MP4 files in VGA resolution (640 by 480), and the internal speaker is not very strong. This means that all your videos HD will be read with black bars above and below. Videos can be scheduled up to 4.5 metres (diagonal) at a distance of 6.8 feet and look reasonably bright, but they get quickly darker you get later. Turn you a ring from the camera to your images an emphasis, a process, you will need to repeat each time that you change your distance from the wall. At their best images look crisp and colourful, but there are a lot of work required to keep them in this way.

If you want a portable projector, the Shoot M 3 'n CP40 hand is a good value and can be useful in a pinch. But if you're in the market is a good HD Pocket camcorder, the Flip Ultra HD and Sony Bloggie Touch cost much less and higher quality video and a better user experience.
