There are all sorts of buzz yesterday regarding request for Google it is enabling new Android devices at a rate of 300 000 per day. But someone calls shenanigans that.
That someone is Frost and Sullivan analyst Michael Jude. Although Google VP Andy Rubin said "activations" 300,000 were happening every day, Jude said that number "can represent the number of phones shipped to manufacturers, many end up in warehouses, rather than into the pockets of the people."
I guess the word "activation" could simply mean that a device is packed and ready for use, which means that he left the Assembly line. But most people would consider actually reach the end user and is connected to the service.
Jude was no solid evidence to rebuke claim Rubin, but he is skeptical, because only a few months ago Google was only "activation" approximately 200,000 devices Android, much less that it claims to do it now.
Of course, Android powered now much more than smartphones. It is used in Nook e-reader Barnes & noble, tab Galaxy Samsung, TV on Sony's, decoder reviewed Logitech and a bunch of things.
Regardless, Android is doing well. No one can deny that.
